How to get the most out of your Facebook and Instagram Carousel Ads

How to get the most out of your Facebook and Instagram Carousel Ads

As the market becomes more saturated, finding a way to stand out among the crowd is difficult. Carousel ads tell a story. They are like movie trailers: capture the audience, show fantastic scenes, but never, ever give away the ending.

Carousel ads feature 3–5 images, links and headlines on the one ad unit. These ads stand out to readers as they showcase the businesses key features in a story. It is also beneficial for the company as they lower costs per click. Below we will examine how to maximise promotion through carousel ads.

#1: Engage the readers

Just like the start of a great novel, the first thing carousel ads must do is to capture the audience. Start the ad off with an image that grabs the reader’s attention. This image should also list the main messages of the ad in order to get your point across immediately.

#2: Keep them swiping

The goal of the carousel ad it to have the readers swipe for the next image until they have reached the end. One great way of keeping the audience engaged is to give an incomplete image. This gets the reader interested in the rest of the message.

#3: Involve readers

When you watch a movie you feel a part of the plot. In a similar way, make your audience feel a part of the scene by relating the product or service to the lives of the readers. Show images in a sequential order where each image results in an intrigued reaction. Make the story relatable for readers by using common language and humour to involve the audience.

#4: Focus on your market

Put yourself in the shoes of your readers. Give them what they want. Design the ad in a way that speaks to your current and potential market. For example, a shoe manufacturer with a main market of sportspeople should have images of athletes and exercising studios, to suit that ideal clientele.

#5: Keep them guessing

Remember, the main goal of a carousel ad is to lure the audience into wanting to know more. Therefore, the last image on the ad should have a call to action under the “learn more” button. Redirect readers to a landing page so you can build a relationship and potentially capture their information.
